Aussie Camping!

So we've been in Australia for 3 short weeks so far and it really has been a whirlwind, we've had no time to keep you updated... so here goes a summery!

We spent 3 chilled out days in Brisbane after the wonderful Pete and Tanya picked us up from the airport and sacrificed their bed for us. We wandered around, taking in the sunshine, the museums and the fake city beach! Then we picked up what was to be our home for the next 42 days and picked a very sleepy Kim up from the airport after a 36 hour journey from Derby to Brisbane!

We tootled on up to Noosa, not quite realising how little time we have to do the whole of queensland from Brisbane to Cairns with Kim in 10 days... we soon got a shock when we booked our Fraser Island and Whitsundays tours and ended up spending pretty much the rest of the 10 days driving! They say Australia is bigger than you think... that is an understatement!!!

So first adventure was fraser island... which, much to Kim's delight (not) saw us jumping in the back of a 4 x 4 with a group of 32 and camping for 2 nights... with no showers, cooking our own food and washing the dishes in the sea! I can honestly say the shower at the end was the best I've ever had and I have never been so sandy in my life!

We saw the beautiful lake Mckenzie, rid ourselves of a hangover in the wonderfully refreshing Eli Creek, chilled in the Champagne pools and took in the views at Indian Heads! This really was a trip of a lifetime!

We then spent the next day and half driving up the coast to Arlie Beach, and what a sight that was. As we pulled into the car park our view was incredible and made us realise how amazing our next trip was going to be. We spent the next two days and nights on a sailing trip, a world away from Frasier Island. Mike and I had a very comfy private room and Kim bedded down in the main bunking area. We both got to do some dives and saw some pretty awesome coral, Mike also managed to squeeze in a night dive! We were spoilt by having our meals cooked for us by our host who also toured around with us on Whitsunday Island at White Haven beach.

We really couldn't believe our luck, such an amazing trip!
